Hey there All. Bev here, your Berrien
County Coordinator.

In the month of January I was in the
midst of catching up on contributions, Family Photo's, County Photo's, Deaths, ect.

and then.........

February came and my computer had a case of the, Let's see if Bev has the patience to deal with me syndrom.

The last few weeks have been hectic. A new computer came my way via the man in my life and transfering all from one to the other has been a chore. I am happy to announce that all is now in place and I am once again ready to start adding all contributions.

I have been slowly working on Cemetery pages while working on the submittions and cleaning up others to make them more user friendly.

The site is growing so PLEASE check in on occasion to see what is new. Loads of things to add and Loads that have been added.

Hello all. This month, for my portion, I have been working on Church and Cemetery histories within Berrien County and hope to have them ready for view in the near future.

Also being added to is our County Death Plus index which goes into information a tad bit more than an obit index would. So please be patient while we gather additional information.
Also keep in mind that this is information, that was donated or supplied through various sources, does not, in any fashion, substitute as a cemetery listing. Rather it helps guide the genealogical researcher in a path to find other ancestors that might be buried within that cemetery or near by location.

Bev, I also have some surprises for you and the viewers, but you will just have to wait until I get them completed before I tell. ;-)

Past News

No complaints, but we did request our own Message Board from Rootsweb. The request got misconstrued and redirected to the present moderator of the Rootsweb Berrien County MI, Message board. So .... we are all under one roof with various individuals and genealogical groups sending their information into the same Rootsweb Message board system. Also note our resources and links page for other Message boards available to viewers.

Share Your Treasures
I am hoping to get out this spring and take some pictures of the older buildings around Berrien County.   Along with that, I hope to find more old time photos too . I live in LaPorte County, only about 12 miles from Berrien County.... Deanna

Lookups Needed
Still need more Volunteers for Lookups. If you have a Berrien County book that has information that others would be interested in or Plat Maps, Family Histories, Family Bibles, ect., please think about taking a few minutes a week to become a volunteer.

Submitions In September/October
County Photos: The Warren Dunes and Farmers And Merchants Bank with an offsite link leading to 42 total pictures of the bank and Employees between the years 1943-1950.
Family Photos: 14 have
Several Biographies have been added in October, marriages, surnames, ect.
A link to, " Reminiscing With Pearl Playford," was added to the County History page. (This is an offsite link).
I am working on numerous Obituaries that were submitted to me this month.

Getting To Know One Another
Deanna West, my assistant for the Berrien site since the day after I adopted the County, and I have been very busy adding things to the site for your benefit. Adding and combining pages and just all out trying to make the site user friendly for all. We have spent the last couple of months getting to know each other, helping and loading pages and fixing broken links. At times when my creativity is at a slow beat I e-mail Dea and ideas start to form. She inspired me to create egg people that resemble the two of us. Cute eh?
Our chats have led us to find that our grandfather's both worked for the News-Palladium at the same time.
A Connection was made. Destiny?
We have the same goals, to help others in their quest.

Goals
To collect useful information that will assist in the genealogist's search.
To make this site more user-frienldy.
To help families/genealogists connect with each other.

Our reward is to see people happy with the efforts we have put into this site!
