REQUESTING A LOOK UP
Please do not send more than one name or ask for more than one resource at a time. Make your query
as specific as possible.  Include the person's name, a date, place and the resource you want the lookup in.
Type in BERRIEN COUNTY LOOKUP in the subject line of your e-mail and make your inquiry as complete as possible with dates or approximate dates, first names, place names if known, etc.
DO NOT ask for all of one surname in the records, this may result in your e-mail being deleted without
an answer.

Berrien County Lookups!

Linda Story has one of the reprinted copies of the 1873 Berrien County Atlas and is willing to do lookups from it for anyone researching possible land owners from this time.

This 1873 atlas was the first of its kind for Berrien County and there is a nice index of surnames and business listings for the various communities.
Inquires can be sent to Linda at story_linda@yahoo.com

Carrie Gleaves has in her possesion a copy of the 1906 Berrien County History book and has agreed to look up imformation on names that she has indexed and donated to the site for your convenience. Before requesting a look-up from the book, please check out the Index.

Brett is willing to make copies of obituaries, and select vital records from Cass and Berrien County, Michigan, which are housed at the Niles, Michigan, Public Library. (See Below For AvalableDates).
Note that the vitals are non certified copies.

He will do these lookups for a small fee of $1.25 per record. This **Does Not** Include Postage. The rule is 6 records per envelope, so send one S.A.S.E. per 6 records.
Note that many early vitals are in ledger form and require two sheets of paper. If preffered, Brett can transcribe the information contained on the record(s) onto note book paper instead to save paper, which is often prefferable, due to the fading of early records.
Please be as specific as possible with the date and specifics of the event. Brett does not charge for his research time, but he will not look forever and this often becomes problematic with more common names.

E-mail him with questions and preferences at Bhardest1@aol.com

Send requests to Brett Hardesty at
1007 Cedar St.
Niles, MI. 49120

**Please do not forget to send your Adress, E-mail and Phone Number with your requests.
**Please send the Entire fee of $1.25 per record requested and the proper number of S.A.S.E.

***Note if after his earnest attempt the record is not located that there will be no refund made.
